Movement Therapy

Movement therapies help people whose ability to move has been limited due to an accident, illness, or injury. Movement therapy is beneficial for arthritis sufferers, patients recovering from a stroke, athletes injured during a sporting event, and dancers and musicians with performance injuries. Our movement specialists can help people whose daily activities have been limited by pain or illness. Through therapy, they can regain their independence and reduce the risk of re-injury.

Functional movement training uses bands, balls, free-weights, and plyometric exercises to condition the body. Exercises are designed to mimic specific activities or skills. It is the mimicking of the ways in which muscles are used together in actual activities that differentiates functional movement training from most exercises that simply isolate the problematic area. In order to achieve maximum performance quality, we will examine all of the various factors that affect performance. Each individual will be evaluated based on strength, agility, sports skills, genetic potential, and cardiovascular and respiratory conditioning.
