Their compounding pharmacists, Ryan and Christine Dyer, partner with the physician and patient to find the best way to “help the medicine go down.” The Accidental Amazon
The Accidental Amazon is an uncool, asymmetrical, post-menopausal, ex-hippie-chick artist and writer with a day job in healthcare who was diagnosed with breast cancer in July of 2008. The cancer was found on a screening mammogram. She had no family history and has thus far lived to complain about it and decided to start a blog while still breathing. Because as John Lennon once said, life is what happens when you're making other plans. Her mission is to talk about art, work, play and life now that she has survived the Big Monster and to throw dirt at it by describing her experience with all the irreverence, indignation, perspective and humor she can muster, all in the hopes that it might help someone else get through something difficult or at least make someone laugh at life now and then. She has also gathered some pertinent information as well to help breast cancer and cancer patients find their way through this challenging, life-altering adventure. |
